NV Domaine des Deux Vallées Crémant de Loire Rosé Extra Brut
Domaine des Deux Vallées is run by Philippe Socheleau who, together with his father Réné, bought the 36 hectare property 2001. Their experience lay in the apple business rather than in wine production – Philippe quickly focussed on honing his winemaking skills both by study and with a nearby vigneron friend, whilst his father tended the vines. One of the first things Philippe did was to rip out the plantings of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay and replant with Chenin Blanc. They are now very much a specialist of that variety, producing Chenin from estate owned vineyards in Savennières, Anjou, Chaume and Coteaux du Layon.
The Crémant de Loire Rosé made from mostly Grolleau & Cabernet Franc grapes, Is bottled specially for Gran Fondo Wine as Extra Brut of around 4 g/l dosage. This is a bone dry , fresh and easy drinking Sparkling WIne made with sustainably-farmed grapes. Try with Seafood stew, Calamari and Grilled Swordfish and capers.
